These ranges are general guidelines based on average recruited athlete metrics. Individual programs may have different requirements. Academic requirements, character, and coachability also play significant roles in recruiting decisions. Reference, not a requirement: women's flag football is an emerging college sport, and these bands are derived from very limited published testing. League context, film and position production decide most evaluations.

How the Women's Flag Football Recruit Score helps you target better programs

College flag football is new, and most programs are NAIA, Division II, Division III, and junior college. The Recruit Score helps you see which of those levels fit your speed, league, and production before you email head coaches.

There are no established college flag standards yet, so the score uses qualitative tiers and treats every number as reference evidence, not a cutoff.

Sample Score Breakdown

Speed first

Coaches screen speed and change of direction first, so the 40-yard dash and 5-10-5 shuttle lead the evaluation.

League context

State-sanctioned varsity flag carries more weight than club, 7v7, or rec play.

Position evidence

Quarterback efficiency, receiving production, and defensive plays are weighed with league context.

Multi-sport athleticism

Track, basketball, soccer, and softball backgrounds help coaches project players new to flag.

Division-Level Projections

Tier 1 range

NCAA Division I varsity programs, established NAIA contenders, and Division II programs that offer aid.

Tier 2 range

Most NAIA and Division II programs.

Tier 3 range

Division III, junior college, and first-year programs.

Women's Flag Football Recruit Score FAQ

Why does the flag football score use tiers instead of divisions?+

Women's flag football is an emerging college sport, and published testing data is very limited. The score groups programs into qualitative tiers, with Division I as the top level, instead of applying numeric cutoffs.

Where do the flag football reference bands come from?+

They are derived from very limited published testing (one study of 14 adult national-league flag players, a female college soccer 40-yard sample, and AVCA college volleyball agility averages) plus NextCommit's women's track 100m tiers. Treat them as reference, not requirements.

Does the flag football score include an NIL estimate?+

No. There is no sourced NIL or scholarship data for college flag football yet, so the score leaves the value estimate out.

Is the Recruit Score free?+

Yes. You can get a Recruit Score without an account. Creating a free NextCommit account saves your score and lets you email coaches at programs that fit.

Is a Recruit Score the same as a coach evaluation?+

No. College coaches decide from film, live evaluation, roster needs, academics, and fit. The score gives you a starting point so your target list and emails are realistic before you send them.
