When people say student-athlete, I think of the attributes of being a leader, role-model, and community influencer. Not only am I a student of the game, but my academics prove that I am more than a football player. I aspire to contribute my talents and abilities to a school that will help prepare for life as a responsible and influential adult. This is my second year having the role of team captain. I know that our coaches could have chosen anyone for this role, but they see my leadership qualities, my maturity, my work ethics, and character, not just on the football field but everyday in the classroom and in the community. I feel that I am a well-rounded person that believes in hard work and knows the importance of responsibility.
